Having said that, does Blogging help with SEO?

Business 2 Community states that blogging does in fact help boost your SEO for a number of reasons.

Having fresh content can help boost SEO. Google loves fresh, unique content.  The key is to keep a consistent steady blog with new reputable information every week. If regular updates don’t occur then you can bet your competitors will rank higher than you in SEO. Blogging helps build relationships with customers and readers, position yourself as an expert in your field and ultimately provide new content for search engines to index!

But spending time to discover your keywords your prospective customers use to find you, and how well the competition is matching that intent will help you determine what kind of content you should create and whether it will have a chance of driving quality organic traffic to your website

Search Engine Land states blogging provides you with the bedrock for your social media presence which helps boost SEO. You can use it to actually reduce your workload by simply adding content in one place and having it show up in your various social media pages if that’s what you want. Blogging enables you to rank in blog search as well  as in regular keyword search results and Local search results giving you exposure and greater distribution of your promotional efforts.

Search Engines give importance to titles which is why you should create a key-word rich title. Titles are what will attract your target audience and here are some tips that will ultimately maximise visibility:

  • Lead with Keywords. the first few words of your title are what search engines give weight to which is why they need to be specific. An example would be …”Ray bands Sunglasses : What’s hot this season”.
  • Numbered Lists. These are more engaging and can generate more click-throughs at the search engines, which may increase your overall rank. An example may be “Top 5 tips for creating great Facebook Content”.

Top 5 Tips for creating great Facebook Content

This week I will be talking about Mark Zuckerburgs online social networking site, that is Facebook and my top 5 tips for creating great content.

Why do businesses use Facebook? It is in fact one of the best online marketing tools for any business according to the Marketing Crowd  but in order for it to be successful, the key is to build valuable relationships with Facebook users. What will make one business stand out from the other on this massive social media platform? Creativity, Interactivity and Engagement are three things businesses should use. Overall businesses should create a presence on Facebook by creating content people want to actually read !

Here are my tips for creating great Facebook content :

1. Use engaging copy , images and videos.

According to ClockWork Marketing,  Using these will grab the attention of Facebook users as they will stand out in their news feed.An engaging photo for example of a customer using a product or enjoying services is engaging , reputable and interesting to a fellow viewer. Short and sweet content is the way to go with these statuses.

2. Create a two way conversation.

According to Impact Bnd, Asking your facebook audience to share their thoughts and views on your business products/services. This is a handy way to get feedback, listening to your customers and improving your business. Interacting with the customer and posting content relevant to their feedback can gain customer loyalty.

3.Be timely

Timing is the key to success in any circumstance and is no different when creating great facebook content. Top of mind subjects relating to current events etc, will engage your audience. Same applies for replying to statuses. The faster the reply, the more likely your audience will have an interest and engage with you in the future.

4. Target your posts.

Firstly, knowing your target audience is key. Who is your content targeted at ? It is essential you know your product and what you want to achieve well before posting content. You can target your post based upon gender, relationship status, educational status, interests, age, location, and language.

5. Plan your Facebook Conversational Calender

The Future of Social Media Marketing is Mobile

International Media Marketers say Mobile Marketing can be defined as distribution of any kind of promotional or advertising messages to customers through wireless networks. Through the use of mobile marketing there has been a major change in the way marketers reach their target markets. People are spending more of their daily time on social media apps such as  Facebook, Pinterest,Twitter and Tumblr through mobile devices. Mobile devices have in fact become customers’ first screen.

Because of this companies have to market with these changes in technology through social media sites. Marketers have realised it is a customer’s mobile phone that is constantly at arm’s reach of them. Even when watching television or socialising, people are still on their phones, browsing through the internet ,chatting to friends on social media or even just scrolling through their social media apps. For marketers, the way forward is Social Media marketing, They can promote and advertise literally in the hands of the consumer through Social Media.

The Search Engine Journal states with 91% of the U.S population having a mobile device, it is no doubt the most significant source of information for both consumers and businesses. The shift in mobile marketing has made a marketers job more effective as they can literally identify their target markets through the use of social media. They can see who is viewing their social media sites, how old they are and even what gender.

Below is an image of the importance social media has on marketers and businesses.

Marketers need to be aware that they need to grow with social media mobile marketing. Gone are the days where television and radio advertising are enough to reach the consumer! Social and mobile are now driving forces in the ‘path to purchase’ says Entrepreneur.com.

In my opinion, personalisation media and location based marketing is a weapon for businesses in social media marketing in the future.

My APPrentic Idea !

MY APP IDEA

apprentice

As part of my Digital Marketing module our class was encouraged by our lecturer Colette Murphy to enter into a competition taking part in CIT called the APPrentice! For the competition, we had to create an APP idea! The winner of the competition would win an ipad which was reason enough for myself and my partner Megan Mcnulty to get our creative juices flowing !!

SNAP THE PAST !

After travelling to many countries with Megan on our Erasmus last year and seeing lots of beautiful landmarks but didn’t know any facts or history behind them , we came up with our APP idea ‘Snap the Past’ ! We came to the conclusion that many tourists like us that visit famous landmarks don’t actually know the history or facts behind the beautiful sight! Snap the Past would be a free reliable App that would provide them with the information they want within seconds. The idea behind our APP idea was simple! Download ‘Snap the Past’ and take a picture of the landmark in front of you (for example The Eifel Tower) and Voila history, information and fun facts would pop up on your phone screen! If only ‘Snap the Past’ was available on our travels, we would have certainly saved  money on boring bus tours where we weren’t actually paying attention to our tour guide! Information would be available for major landmarks in European cities and across the world on our App.

Heres a picture of us outside the gorgeous SchonnBrunn Palace in Vienna on our travels! (Pity we knew nothing about the history behind this beautiful landmark at the time )
